32,5 km, total 638 km. Pretty tough walking.
I woke up at 07:00 and came away 07:30. I took breakfast in a Shell service station across the road. This one opened 7:00. When I crossed La Portela, I heard someone calling my name. It was Steve. Steve had spent the night in Perejre and had stayed in La Portela to get breakfast.
I continued and now the walk began to be hard with many long climbs. Had planned to eat lunch in the O Cebreiro which was the highest point in the mountains. When I sat in o Cebreiro restaurant, I noticed that cell phone coverage was very poor but I still received a call from an old school friend.
On the way up to the Polo do Alto I ended up in the middle of a herd of cows on the way to pastures. There was also a horse that ran loose. These had got the idea that they would follow me so I felt horses breathing in my neck on the trek. In Polo Alto, I took a cup of coffee. Would like to visit the toilet, but this consisted of a hole in the floor so I decided to wait until the next opportunity.
My goal for today was Viduedo. I thought that there was a lodging, but it was a small hotel. A room costs 30 €. I took a room with a hot radiator and the opportunity to wash and dry all my stuff on the radiator.
I had dinner in the restaurant that belonged to the hotel. I asked if it was possible to have breakfast before I left the next morning. "Yes", I was told, "we are open between 7:30 and 8:00".
